Shock. Complete and utter shock. He can’t move, even
as he watches Tamlen step away. He can’t speak
as light eyes follow his (former?) friend. There’s confusion
and anger and outrage, yet a soft voice telling the warden
toStop. He needs you.
He doesn’t listen.
Instead, Theven marches after
his friend, eyes set and jaw
clenched. He’s sure the camp
will be alive soon, what with
all their shouting, but he
simply doesn’t care.Tamlen’s crossed a line.
“Seth’lin! How dare you insult a man twice as strong
as you! How dare you turn your back on me! Halam sahlin,
or I swear I’ll..I’llsend you right back to where the eluvian dumped you!”He hadn’t mean to say that.
He hadn’t mean to say anything at all.
tamlen hoped theven wouldn’t follow,
but as soon as he hears that voice
yelling back at him in that tone, he’s
stopping and turning back.
it isn’t until he is fully facing the younger
that the words hit his ears, and suddenly,
it’s almost as if his whole world comes
crashing down around him, jaw left half-
way slack and tears welling in blue eyes.
hands begin to shake, voice incoherent
at first, and tamlen forces his gaze down
to the dirt, voice swelling up with trembles
and breaths to try and calm himself.
’ or maybe– ’
gaze snaps back up in a quick motion,
jaw clenched for only a moment as a
teardrop slides down the right side of
his face.
’ – maybe i’ll j-just take myself back.
it’s more than obvious… you don’t
want me anymore. ’
